Monterey Bay Junk Services is a junk removal and dumpster rental company based in Salinas, California. This page explains what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
We are a small local business. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with advertisers.

What we collect when you book a job
The booking form on this site asks for the details we need in order to quote a job and turn up at the right place. When you submit it, we receive:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- The service address where the work would happen, and the city
- The service you selected, the load size, and the date and time window you chose
- Anything you typed into the message box
- The estimated price the form displayed to you
- The page you were on when you submitted the form
We use those details for one thing: contacting you about the job and carrying it out. We keep booking requests so that we have a record of work quoted and completed, which we need for our own accounting and for handling any question that comes up afterward. We delete requests that did not lead to a job after two years.
Automatic information
Our web host records standard server logs for every visitor, including your IP address, the pages you requested, the time of the request and your browser’s user agent. Those logs exist for security and for diagnosing faults. They are kept for a short period and then discarded by the host.
When you submit the booking form we record the IP address it came from. This is used only to stop the same address flooding the form with automated submissions.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising cookies and does not run third-party tracking.
WordPress, the software the site runs on, sets cookies only for people who log in to administer the site. If you are just reading pages or filling in the booking form, no login cookie is set.
Third parties
A small number of outside services are involved in running this site:
- Our web host stores the site’s files and database and keeps the server logs described above.
- Our email provider receives booking requests and any message you send us, and stores them the way any email inbox does.
Some pages link out to Google Maps, Yelp, Instagram or Pinterest. Following one of those links takes you onto a service we do not control, with its own privacy policy. We do not embed trackers from any of them into this site.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights in California
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives California residents specific rights over personal information. You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and where it came from
- Give you a copy of it
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, unless we are required to keep it for tax or legal reasons
- Limit how we use it
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that law, so there is nothing for you to opt out of. Exercising any of these rights costs you nothing and we will not treat you differently for asking.
To make a request, call 831-788-2620 or email mbjunkremovalservices@gmail.com with the phone number or email address you gave us, so we can find your record. We will respond within 45 days. If we need longer we will tell you why.
How we protect your information
The site is served over an encrypted connection, so anything you type into the booking form is encrypted in transit. Access to booking records is limited to the people who run the business.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as California law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
